Archery GB Young Instructor Award

The Archery GB Young Instructor Award is designed specifically for young people aged 14-16 who are passionate about archery and interested in becoming instructors.

This course provides the same comprehensive content as the Archery GB Instructor Award but is tailored to ensure young participants get the most out of their learning experience. Upon qualifying, participants can become range assistants, and when they reach the age of 17, they can upgrade to the full Instructor Award using the Archery GB Instructor Subscription Competency Check.

Course objectives

  • How to deliver engaging and safe introductory archery sessions
  • Selecting appropriate equipment for beginners
  • How to set up and manage an archery range safely
  • Teach basic archery techniques

The course is delivered over two days and includes both theoretical and practical components, with delivery methods tailored to young learners. It is ideal for young people who are interested in becoming qualified archery instructors and have little or no prior experience in archery.

Participants will be assessed on their ability to deliver a safe and engaging archery session and their understanding of archery principles through a multiple-choice question paper. Successful participants will receive the Archery GB Young Instructor Award certificate.

Next Steps

  • Participants can immediately start assisting with range setup, safety supervision, and supporting archery sessions
  • At age 17, participants can use the Archery GB Instructor Subscription to upgrade to the full Instructor Award, gaining access to additional resources and professional development opportunities

Courses range in price from £200-240 and include 12 months of the Instructor Subscription, giving students access to further training via online learning modules as well as discounts on archery kit.
