Across the country, Archery GB clubs and archery providers will open their doors to anyone wanting to give the fantastic sport of archery a go!

Visitors of all abilities and ages will be able to have a go at archery, delivered by our amazing team of qualified archery coaches and volunteers. There are no limits as to who can do archery – it’s for everybody regardless of physical ability. It also has numerous health and wellbeing benefits and is well documented as a confidence-boosting sport. Just give it a go!

All equipment will be provided, so participants just need to bring themselves and plenty of enthusiasm. Please note, some events may require prior booking, and some may charge a nominal fee for participation – please check with the organiser for full details.

Is there an age limit?

Archery can be enjoyed by all ages but some beginners' courses set an age limit of around 8. At Start Archery Week, clubs will often have soft archery kits or extra volunteers on hand to support younger children.

What do I need?

All equipment will be provided. For a Start Archery Week event the kit provided typically includes a bow, arrows, an arrow stand or quiver, an arm guard and a target.

Dress for the weather and wear flat shoes. Suncream and water is a good idea if it's sunny. Long hair should be tied up and glasses or sunglasses or a sunhat can be worn.
