An archery club in Lincolnshire invited the residents of a village to try archery to celebrate the club moving to a new home.
Sleaford Maltsters have recently moved to a new field in Osbournby, just outside Sleaford, and with a lot of hard work from a dedicated band of club members they are now shooting at their new home.
On 26 July, to coincide with the Olympic Opening Ceremony, the club hosted a have-a-go for the village, as part of Archery GB's Aim for Paris celebrations and to say hello to residents.
A total of twenty people signed up and joined the club over two sessions, with some good shooting and lots of smiling faces. Seven participants also signed up that night for a beginners’ courses, the next step in becoming an archer and member of the club.
Stephen Woods, from the club, said: "A willing band of volunteers from the club set this up, some were coaches, others were archers willing to help, all thoroughly enjoying the experience, hopefully coaches of the future."
One participant said: "It was a lovely have-a-go, my family really enjoyed it."
Stephen added: "The evening was a great success with lots of happy faces and bursting balloons!"
